In 2001, Ecotox Services Australia became the first commercial toxicity testing laboratory to gain National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia (NATA) accreditation. The laboratory gained accreditation for conformance with AS ISO/IEC 17025:2005 General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories. This is the current standard for testing laboratories in Australia, and includes the general requirements covered by AS ISO 9000 series.
The ESA laboratory has gained NATA endorsement for a broad range of routine ecotoxicity tests, covering freshwater, estuarine and marine organisms, both tropical and temperate. These include acute, sub-lethal and chronic end-points. For a complete list, see Toxicity Tests page.
The ESA toxicity testing laboratory continually adds to its growing list of NATA endorsed tests. The tests for which we apply for new accreditation are those which have become routine, and which are in commercial demand.
